Enjoyed a wonderful birthday last Tuesday, beginning with Mass. Was struck by the wonder of how God works in our lives. I was moved to pray for conversions in my before Mass prayers, and was delighted to learn at the start of Mass that it was the celebration day of the conversion of St. Paul. How fitting. See what I mean? The morning was made all the more delightful in that I was able to participate in the Mass with my parents, Kathy, and Barry. And to top it off, my Alleluiah family was there to sing me "Happy Birthday" afterward and present me with a beautiful gift basket and card filled with birthday wishes. They are awesome. I cried, of course.
After Mass, my wonderful sister took me to the happiest place on earth. No, not Disneyland. The local yarn shop. She spent way too much money on luxury yarn which I will have the pleasure to knit up for her. And she also splurged on yarn for me to knit myself a decadent scarf. This yarn has to be seen to be believed. I can't wait to start the scarf. Here are some pictures of the yarn haul in all its glory:
When I got home, I found that Barry had taken off work early to spend the day with me. That was a happy surprise. And when the boys got home from school, Barry took us all out to dinner to top off the celebration. Oh, and did I mention that my previously noted as wonderful sister made me some delicious frosted birthday brownies? Duh-licious.
